Primrose Scarf

Hello ! Check out this new Primrose Scarf. I used 2 skeins of color A and 2 skeins of color B. You can use single color or 2 different colors. And you can also try variegated yarn. Or else use can use 3 different colors in this pattern. Use color C for joining motifs. Just feel free to play with your colors. This scarf can be used as normal shawl, rectangular scarf, cowl, infinity scarf or some fashion statement to your attire!

Materials used:

• Yarn: StyleCraft Special DK & Nako Saten

color: Pale rose(A), Dark corn silk (B)

• Hook size: 3.50mm (E)

• Yarn needle

• Stitch marker


Recommended crochet supplies:

Abbreviation:

• sl - slip

• ch - chain

• sc – single crochet

• dc –double crochet

• tc – triple crochet

• st(s) - stitch(es)

• rep - repeat

• *_* - Repeat stitches inside this star

• *{ _ }* - repeat stitches inside this {}

• *[ _ ]* - repeat stitches inside this []

• *# _ #* - repeat stitches inside this ##

• sk – skip


❖ NF – new flower

❖ OF – old flower


Pattern:

Flower motifs: [ref image 1.a.,]

Color A

1. Ch 5, sl st in 1st ch and make ring

2. *ch3 (counts as 1st dc), 3dc in same ring, ch3 (counts as 4th dc), make sl st in the center ring* - rep 3 more times {You will get 4 petals}

3. Slots [ref image 1.b.,]: turn back flower, *ch3, grab two yarns (approx) in connecting point of two petals [ref image 1.c.,] make sc* - rep 3 more times {You will get 4 slots}


snip the yarn and weave in loose ends.


Color B

4. attach new yarn in any slot, *ch4, 4tc in same slot, ch4, sl st in same slot, sl st in next slot* - rep 3 more times {You will get 4 outer petals}


snip the yarn and weave in loose ends.


Connecting motifs: Horizontal

Color A

1. sc(s) in each st of any petal Total: 6sc(s) , *ch6, sc(s) in next petal

2. connect NF, 3sc(s) in NF petal, turn OF back side and connect this NF to 3rd sc of previously worked OF, sc in 4th st of NF, turn OF back side and connect this NF to 4th sc of previously worked OF, sc in 5th and 6th st of NF

3. ch3, turn both flowers back & connect to already worked 6 chain space and make sc

4. ch3, turn both flowers front & sc(s) on next petal of NF Total: 6sc(s) * - rep


rep this to connect flowers horizontal. After connecting all horizontal motifs:


5. *# ch6, sc(s) on each st of next petal, ch6, sc(s) on each st of next petal, ch3, connect to ch space and make sc in center, ch3, connect to next flower petal and make sc(s)#* - rep


rep this throughout your horizontal row.


Connecting motifs: Vertical

Note: always connect vertically from left to right


1. *{ch6, connect to NF and make 3 sc(s)

2. turn OF back side and connect this NF to 3rd sc of previously worked OF, sc in 4th st of NF, turn OF back side and connect this NF to 4th sc of previously worked OF, sc in 5 th and 6th st of NF

3. ch3, connect to ch space and make sc in center

4. ch3, turn,}* sc(s) on each st of NF petal.

5. *[…*{Rep}*, 3 sc(s), turn OF back side and connect this NF to 3rd sc of top OF, sc in 4th st of NF, turn OF back side and connect this NF to 4th sc of top OF, sc in 5th and 6 th st of NF] *

6. *[Rep]* - rep this to connect motifs vertically

7. *# rep #* - this row should be repeated after connecting each row of motifs





Note:

➢ You can use any border for your scarf. I used simple dc border

➢ Attach tassels if you wish. I used Color A inner motif as tassels

➢ You can make this scarf in any size. I connected 4 flowers horizontally and 35 flowers vertically. So, it’s little bigger than scarf length.

➢ This scarf can be used as shawl, rectangular scarf, infinity scarf or cowl. Or you can simply use it as a fashion statement to your attire. Refer final images for different ways to wear this scarf.

➢ I used 2 skeins of Color A and 2 skeins of Color B

➢ You can use single color or two different colors or single variegated color. Or else you can use third different color for connecting motifs of the scarf.
